Popped in for a drink with our Westie George. He couldn't believe his eyes when the landlord brought the tortoise in out of the rain. Never seen him so starstruck 😃 Lovely, cosy and welcoming pub. Will definitely visit again.
Been coming here for years now, and is and always have been me and my best mates pub of choice, traditional pub , regulars always welcoming and the landlord Steve is a top bloke. Great selection of beers , good company, everything you’d expect and want in a traditional pub. A drinkers pub not a restaurant where you can buy beers like other places
Quality pub full of quality people. A proper country pub which serves the soul purpose of a proper boozer rather than a lot of other pubs in the area which have become more of a restaurant. Nice array of ales that are changed regularly and the barman Steve is a top bloke. Thoroughly recommend this gaff if you love a good drunken chat to some random people always a pleasure.
Landlady is very rude, asked for a pint of San Miguel and asked to pay on card, her reply was "card, for one drink?" In a very rude tone and the glass was filthy (see picture for reference)
Visited on a Tuesday afternoon before Christmas for a quick drink. It was very quiet with only one other customer and who I presume was the landlady sitting this side of the bar having a drink. She quickly turned the TV off when my husband and I walked in which meant it was very, very quiet and we had to talk in whispers so as not to be over heard. Landlord seemed friendly enough although I think he missed an opportunity to upset when I asked for a gin and tonic and he didn't ask what gin. We had one drink and left.
