My wife and I stayed at the Cat Inn in January 2024 with our little dog for one night. It was one of those rare experiences when you leave a hotel totally impressed with every aspect of your stay. Andrew and his team were genuinely lovely people who made us feel so welcome. The other customers were really friendly and we felt part of a close community for a few hours. Food was amazing, room was great but I wish I could give a 6th star for the staff. First stay but definitely not the last. Sam and Tom
We had an excellent table in a tucked away in a nook. This is a great winter pub with fires roaring and doggies made to feel as welcome as well as their two legged owners. The service from everyone was outstanding and the food delicious. The menu is pleasantly compact with a mixture of pub faves and locally sourced produce specials. I had the cod loin, with an amazing brown shrimp sauce, which was incredible. There is a great selection of beers. We will be going back for sure. Enjoy.
Food was excellent and our waitress delightful, but was not happy with our table next to the toilets and the staff door. The old part and the smaller restaurant by the bar are the best places to sit as the main restaurant is soulless. It was our friends first visit to the Cat so not a great first impression apart from the excellent food.
Dinner for 4 which was excellent. Food was superb and all home made - Scotch egg starter (runny yolk inside), Gammon which was amazing (yes I know its 'just' Gammon but it was the best I've ever tasted) and a lovely Treacle tart. We all enjoyed our meal. The service was friendly, great and warm, and my best compliments to the Chef and his team for the food. Lovely evening and looking forward to going back again. Thank you.
Wow! Wonderful pub and restaurant. Saturday lunch with family. Food was utterly amazing. From the Dill Mussels, baked Halibut and finished with a mind blowing Raspberry Soufflés and coffee. Not a scrap left by 7 of us. Compliments to the chef. They deserve some stars. V nice wine selection as well. Entire afternoon made more enjoyable by the attentive and engaging staff. Nicest people I have ever been looked after by. Had the great big elevated table by bar. All round an excellent afternoon and highly recommended.
