A traditional warm welcome awaits you here at the Woolpack. Burgess Hill's best kept secret, a country pub which was formerly West End farmhouse which in part, dates back to 1621.
There is a restaurant area within the Sussex Barn that extends from the farmhouse, which is cosy and comfortable with its eclectic collection of tables and chairs. Food is served throughout the pub and garden and is prepared fresh here every day. Our suppliers are all locally based and we are proud to be working with them. Their details can be found on our menus or under the 'Our Partners' tab on this web site. We work hard to make sure every meal we prepare and serve is as good as we can make it and we pride ourselves on the standard of our service and our relaxing atmosphere.
Our allotment, located in front of the Farmhouse, behind the fence separating the duck pond, was created over 18months ago and we will be extending it again this year. We use everything we grow and this includes potatoes, spinach, kale parsnips, beetroot, runner beans, rocket salad, herbs, squash, soft fruit and even cut flowers for our tables.
We hold the Cask Marque standard for the quality of our cellar and our draft cask ales. We have a choice of up to six available and offer guest ales each and every week. Our draught lagers include Kronenburg, Amstel and Italy's biggest selling draft, Birra Moretti
The wine list offers Red, White, Rose and sparkling with a choice of Champagne. We have over seven wines available by the glass
and if there is a particular wine you would like us to stock for you we would be happy to see if we can.

As we live locally it is a convenient meeting place but expensive, £8 for a white wine... But there you go it's a big place and they work really hard to keep people interested with regular jazz, music and open mic nights as well as hosting classic car show and markets, have heard food is very good, but if you want value for money you might want more than eight chips in a stack....
Lunch on a Wednesday - it was, as expected, fairly quiet. However the food was good and the service excellent. I do not know why people continue to knock this pub - I have never had any issues in the 8 or 9 times I have ate there over the last few years
First time I’ve been here for a while. Visited with my mum and nephew. I had a chicken burger which is probably the best chicken burger I’ve eaten! Fresh and very tasty, my nephew had a rodeo burger of which he said was equally delicious and mum had hunters chicken and she snaffled it all up which for an 84 year old is no mean feat. We have pudding on the way which I’m sure will be scrumptious. Great service as well🥳
Such a friendly, welcoming place. The menu works for me, there are plenty of options I would like, and the food is always really nice. The staff are warm and helpful and it's just very comfortable and inviting! Also, some of the dishes are offered in smaller portions.
Have only ever visited during the day so not sure about atmosphere, never very busy during lunchtimes. Large car park and roadside parking nearby should that fill up. Food is okay, nothing to blow your socks off but its alright albeit a bit pricey for what it is. Staff all friendly enough from what I've experienced.
