Our first time here. The cake here is amazing and so delicious! A lovely treat for my mums birthday. The members of staff who served us - Gabriella and Reegan were both extremely helpful, polite and welcoming. Will definitely come back 😊
Stopped going here ages ago, when food standard dropped. Gave them another chance. Unpleasant atmosphere. Mean with meat on Carvery, and my food was cold by the time I was half way through eating it. (and I eat fast.) Staff trying to remove my plate from table whilst my Wife still eating. (She eats slowly.) Never again.
Can't comment on the food as we were so offended by the service we went elsewhere. Multiple members of family (7 people) met here to get a table near the play area to watch over our kids (which we reserved online). When we arrived they had set up 2 separate tables at the other side of the pub, out of sight of the play area. Frustratingly, we complained to the manager who said all the tables were booked and they were unwilling to move tables. They told us they considered the area to be a family area next to the play area, which we clearly disagreed with (See photos of view from play area and view of play area from table). After refusing to do anything, the assistant manager preceeded to walk away from the situation unresolved, sarcastically announcing "Merry Christmas". The area is clearly misadvertised as near to play area, luring us into a false expectation we would be able to watch over our children from the comfort of the table. The unwillingness to compromise or move us to another table closer, despite being empty, is atrocious. Terrible service, avoid. Edit : On the way out, we spoke with one of the managers (Victoria), who was much more compassionate and understanding, actually apologising for the situation that had arisen. Although by that point our minds were made up about leaving, she diffused tensions and deserves praise for speaking with us kindly and professionally.
We visit regularly, staff are always great, they now know us as regulars. Sarah is attentive and friendly and she understands that we need a quieter area with our SEN daughter. We mostly opt for carvery and the chefs are always friendly. If there’s something not quite right with the food we will always ask and it’s always rectified with no problems. The staff in the majority of cases always come to ask if our meal is good. Desserts always look amazing but after a main course we never have the room to eat any more. Definitely worth a visit.
First time dining at the Farmhouse inn. Amazing experience for the Sunday roast. As a chef I have to say that the quality and the food portions were amazing. Beautifully carved in front of the customer on order and self serving vegetables and sauces well stored and kept warm and fresh. I have not researched about the restaurant before coming here and I have to say that I was pleasantly impressed. The prices were very low as well. Again, thank you for the great Sunday lunch experience. We'll surely be back. 👏
