Great pub. Our first visit after a couple of people recommended it to us. Warm fires, warm welcome and well kept beer.
Absolutely brilliant! Staff are all friendly and helpful, the pub is charming and cosy, the rooms are comfortable and it's right in the centre of town. I can't think how it could be any better.
An absolute gem of a pub with very comfortable and really well-kept rooms in a brilliant city location. The staff are extremely helpful and the beer is brilliant. Stay here over one of the big chain hotels any day - I can’t recommend it enough.
Parking included which is practical. The welcome included lots of ideas and advice but rather not that warm. The bedrooms are small but comfy. Well situated : about 5 minutes by foot from the nice places.
Lovely characterful pub with super-friendly staff and customers. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. Our only complaint is that while the windows have secondary glazing, which was great at keeping noise out, the windows themselves are painted shut, which meant the room was way too hot. The duvet was also too heavy for the current summer weather - we normally take a top sheet with us whenever we stay somewhere overnight, so that we can sleep under just a thin layer, but we forgot to do so this time. Great location too, with just a short walk into town.
