A simply stunning renovation of this old pub. We had lunch (chowder, quiche and a sandwich), all incredibly generous portion sizes, deliciously homemade and unbelievably tasty 😋. The cakes are superb too. The drinks on offer both alcoholic and not are a great variety without being overwhelming. Delightful staff, we'll definitely be back.
Really good food at a reasonable price. Nice bar with log burner cosy at this time of year. Step outside and look up the street great view of the Castle a reminder of more turbulent times. 👍👍

Went for lunch on Wednesday with a large group of people. I had the lentil and butternut squash curry which was delicious. Coffee was strong and plentiful. Dogs are allowed. A lovely ambience and beautifully renovated interior.
We stopped here for lunch on the second day of the Coast & Castle bike ride from Edinburgh. The staff were so welcoming and the food is simply delicious. This is a gem of a place and well worth a visit.
