The Union Tavern is a first rate example of a traditional English pub serving Joseph Holt’s award winning ales and lagers together with a wide selection of wines and spirits. The pub also offers a pool table and darts to play with friends in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Situated on Liverpool Street in close proximity to the Middlewood Locks redevelopment on the outskirts of Salford, the Union Tavern is a classic example of a Victorian Salfordian street-corner local retaining its traditional feel in modern surroundings. The pub comprises a lounge to the left and a vault and pool room at the rear, all served from the traditional central bar.
In a fitting tribute the walls are adorned with photographs and memorabilia of Manchester United, including framed front pages following the Munich Air Crash.

Have a lot of love for this place. Many a great night has been had here. Bernie and Phil are the perfect landlords. Never a dull time in the Union. Here’s to many more excellent pints 🍻
Lovely place, lovely people. Whether you’re coming in for a quiet pint, to play darts, or to have a nice chat, you needn’t look further. The landlords, Bernie and Phil, are the salt of the earth. Highly recommend visiting.
A very welcoming pub. The friendliest landlords, staff and regulars. Many a kneeslapper has been had at The Union and many more will be had!
Working in Manchester chefing and wanted to visit a local pub and wow, we are so glad that we found this local pub. From the very start, we were greeted by the owners and locals as if we had been coming here for many years. If you want a great experience from a local pub, make sure you make time to visit. 5☆
Awesome pub, never been felt more welcome. Landlords dont hesitate to engage and make you feel at home away from home
