Traditional pub. Pretty empty when I visited.
Not enough seating on busy times such quiz night - could do with more bar stools. Landlord a bit threatening and dismissive when asked if more stools could be acquired - he simply replied "you should get here earlier". Pub is now under new management.
Visited to see gaslighters playing. Didn't know what it would be like as it is a small pub and thought it may be loud. I was wrong the sounds were just right and group very good. Was very crowded but service at bar was quick and efficient.. staff friendly and atmosphere welcoming
Says it's a sky sports bar with a sky sports banner outside the pub. but when we asked the bartender she said they didn't have the game on. The landlord was there who was a ignorant arrogant man. Will never go to this place (that you call a nice local pub) again.
Great place to pop in for a pint after a 13 mile walk along the coast from South Shields to Whitburn. We often go there its decor and furnishings make it very comfortable and welcoming , the staff are always friendly and now it's got the added bonus of WiFi.
