Here at Toby Carvery Shiremoor, we believe there's only one way to do our beloved British roast – and that's properly. Every spud is checked by hand and ruffled for extra crunch. All of our meat is slow-cooked and basted to succulent perfection. And our Yorkshires are freshly made in our kitchens and served crisp, fluffy and piping-hot to your plate. That's what makes us the home of the roast.
When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. We serve four types of meat; gammon, succulent roast beef, soft turkey and juicy pork all cut and served from our carvery bar straight onto your plate. So it's no wonder we're Tyne And Wear's favourite carvery restaurant.
Food is average, noticeably flavourless the last few times we have been. Today the lamb didn't come out until 40 minutes into service which means those booked for the start of service didn't have that as an option which is pretty bad really. Young bearded chap on carvery looked like he would rather be anywhere else. Some customer service training needed there.
Karen and I were hungry and looking forward to having a very nice meal. We were shown to our booked table and asked what drinks we wanted by Marley our server. With two full plates, we had a good time.
Wonderful experience at Shiremoor Toby Carvery. The food was delicious, an excellent variation of meat, vegetables and sides to choose from and the restaurant was clean and spacious. Special thank you to Marley who couldn't have done more to make our experience such a pleasant one. She was very pleasant, attentive and brilliant with our 2 year old. Thank you!
I just had the best time at Tony Carvery! The food was absolutely amazing and the service was top-notch. Let me tell you, the blonde host with tattoos was absolutely fantastic. She was so friendly and made us feel right at home. I can't recommend Tony Carvery enough for a fantastic dining experience!
Visited Wednesday 20/12/2023 7pm. Mostly very good, staff very courteous and keen to please. We were mainly dealt with by Sammie. This branch has some minor layout issues... we struggled to be seen by staff when we went in through the entrance, not helped by the Christmas tree. Also, when there is a long queue for the carvery, people going to / from the gravy are having to walk through the queue.
