We thought the veg choice limited. Staff not very forthcoming. We did however note one of the team Harley who seemed to have a large section to run. He was racing around trying to keep everyone happy very hardworking but the only one we noted. Tables were without cutlery and salt and pepper we noted on our table and also saw others walking around looking for the same. Brought to the table not given instruction on how to order and drinks took a long time to come. We did not order dessert as we thought the service was so delayed and inattentive however Harley needs a pay rise.
A busy venue (It was a Saturday dinner time) and therefore food was fresh, hot and very nice. A large venue, plenty of space. Plenty of room in the car park. Overall a good experience, will no doubt return at some point.
Easy to book. Easy to park. Quality of food. Quantity of food. Reasonable price. Pleasant surroundings. It was very busy but staff were clearly working hard and were still friendly. Only one vegetarian option which didn't include mushrooms and vegetarian guest is allergic to mushrooms. Recollection from a visit in summer 2023 is that there were more options
Boxing Day visit - Party of 12 The member of staff who was taking the orders had no interest in being there so much so that both our large party and the other party in the same room both sarcastically commented on how she was full of the Christmas spirit!!! Her customer service skills and manners were shocking and she was later heard bossing another team member about saying he needed to go clear the tables she was looking after. That member of staff apologised for the starters not being cleared when we came over and at this point had finished our mains and that it should have been done by the person serving us. I understand it was boxing day and she probably didn't want to be at work but if you choose to work in hospitality then unsociable working is expected. This was our 3rd visit on Boxing Day and has questioned if we will be back in 2024 or go elsewhere.
It was brilliant, staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Lovely Geordie chef behind the meat but reminded me of home and was amazing with my kids, the other chef also helped my little girl without being asked. Staff were really quick to tidy up, handled it getting busy really well. Everything was clean and easy to find. Manager behind the bar was incredibly friendly too and was from near me! Brill place.
