About us

Situated beside the historic Bridge Across the Atlantic on the idyllic Isle of Seil. Known to the locals as ‘The Hoose of Troosers’, the Inn was once a changing point for Seil Islanders to change from kilts into trousers before crossing Clachan sound to the Mainland, as the Scots found themselves outlawed in the wearing of kilts and native Gaelic tongue following the Jacobite Rebellion in 1745.

The Inn has been recently renovated and now offers luxury, 5* rooms with an inviting 2AA rosette restaurant, as seen on Masterchef the Professionals, alongside a traditional local pub & beer garden.

Only a short drive from Oban (11 miles), Tigh an Truish is nestled between breathtaking sea shores, mountains and spectacular wildlife.

We have Tesla Electric Car Charging available.

Recently refurbished and they have done a good job. Still traditional Scottish pub. Bit pricey on the drinks though

My recent visit to Tigh an Truish wasn't just a meal; it was an enchanting escape. Nestled beside the iconic Clachan Bridge, the inn itself exudes a warm, welcoming charm, like stepping into a storybook cottage. But the true magic unfolds on the plate. Each dish is a masterpiece, a symphony of flavors orchestrated by a passionate chef. My meal was a revelation, a perfect harmony of textures and tastes that lingered long after the last bite.

Delicious food as usual. The Sunday roast was extremely generous, but a tad on the rare side which made it a bit chewy. The cheese plate is fantastic. The staff are superbly helpful and friendly. TnT is in a superb location and if you're a visitor then there's a nice wee run down to Easdale you can do afterwards.

Called here for a quick lunch. The food is absolutely delicious 😋. The best mussels we have had in Scotland and a really tasty homemade soup. Will definitely be returning soon for a proper meal. Thanks

Without doubt the best chicken Sunday roast I’ve ever had. Every part of it was perfect. This pub/restaurant is a little out the way, but worth the journey! The pub part was cosy and traditional with a real fire. Would definitely go back!
