The Three Tuns may look like a tiny little cosy pub from the Market Place but step inside and you will discover all that it has to offer.
Firstly the cosy little front bar with a real log fire; beyond the quaint bar an intimate dining room. Venture further down the long corridor and discover a pretty terrace garden, a great little sun trap in the summer and finally the Stable Bar, a multifunctional private room with its own bar, a super venue for drinks parties, private dining for up to 32 seated guests and more. The Three Tuns offers fabulous food too, just recommended in the Michelin guide 2016 for the 4th year running the food offers the pub classics you would expect from a 16th century pub combined with other seasonal dishes prepared with great skill using modern techniques such as scallops with Chorizo snow and Lamb, Pudding and Pie. That combined with Brakspear cask ales, an interesting wine list and live music in the front bar every Sunday evening the affectionately known "Tuns" is a must visit if you are in town.
Courteous, friendly staff and great food, definitely above average. It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for. I got to the pub after a long hike, the last few hours in persistent rain... I was tired, cold, hungry, sweaty and muddy, but they didn't bat an eyelid! Very welcoming!
Great pub friendly staff great food and a great chef they purchase local products and their meat from next door a very renowned butchers,go there!!!!!
A really nice pub. The Boat House at the back is a nice place to have a drink.
Called for a drink and decided to have Sunday lunch. Staff were lovely and sorted us a table for 2, even though they were extremely busy. Roast pork dinner and chicken were both nice. Ample vegetables came separately, and we asked for extra gravy, and it was no trouble to them.
Great food, lovely atmosphere! Stopped for roast dinner, reasonably priced, huge portions and gigantic Yorkie to top the meal 100% recommend
