This traditional, friendly, multi-roomed local is believed to be New Brighton's oldest as well as highest pub. It has a conservatory extension where good value home-cooked food is served daily. The handpumps are in the main bar area, with four varying guest ales on offer from a mixture of national and micro-breweries. Two popular annual beer festivals are hosted in the rear garden. Live folk music plays regularly here. Local CAMRA Pub of the Year 2009.

Dropped in for a quick couple of beers on Christmas Day. Spectacularly good London Porter, in superb condition. Would be worth 5 stars if it were not nearly £5 per pint!
Good old pub decent beer selection, atmosphere purely down to the staff on that day and how busy it is worth dropping in as the real ale is good and locals friendly
Allways been good beer not had mutch food but when i did was great need a few bands to get bums of seats great beer garden
Just a quick half today. Cask ale is always well kept, but probably the most expensive in New Brighton. Have been here for food too in the past and this has always been good.
Friendly service and a nice pint. Does food too. Shows the sports. Large outside area with screens. Matter of taste but they have modernised the bar. I prefer the older style but that's just me and good luck to them if that what the patrons want as I only popped in for one.
