First time trying here, I had the beef hotpot and my wife had the spicy chicken sandwich. The beef was cooked too perfection and the chicken was the best we have tasted in a long while. Staff where polite and friendly. Definitely will go back
Menu: Had to wait over 1 hour for food 🙄. And when food did come it was all wrong and the steak was even cremated. Paid an extra 2 pound for a bag of 50p Brussels sprouts that were not cooked, would have been better if microwaved. Desserts: The desserts were satisfactory. The best thing about this place was the road out
Dined here before. Beautiful decor and ambiance. Today though I think they had taken on more than the chef and bar service could handle. Food quality and presentation not up to its usual standard. Staff very friendly though. Would still visit again but not in such a peak period
Had a nice family meal, our children enjoyed their meals and desserts too. Unfortunately we experienced very slow service in what appeared to be not the busiest of times. We had fore warning of the wait times from family members who've dined here in the past, and they were right. It may be ok as a couple but waiting with hungry kids...well if you know you know! So if you don't mind a 45 min to 1 hour wait after ordering then try it, the food was nice but I wouldn't say worth the wait.
I had a fantastic experience at The Tavern in Widnes. The car park provided easy access to the building, making it very convenient. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed by the great atmosphere and warm welcome from the staff. The bar and dining area were beautifully decorated and impeccably clean, creating an inviting ambiance. If you're looking for a meal recommendation, I highly recommend trying the roast dinner. The beef and roast potatoes were cooked to perfection. The staff were not only efficient, but also professional and friendly, making my experience even more enjoyable. The Tavern is a wonderful place to visit, and I can't wait to return for another delicious meal. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving this pub a try.

Beautiful village pub/restaurant. Friendly staff. Cask ales, fine wines and huge beer garden. Families welcome. Bouncy castle, playground, home cooked food
