The Taigh Ailean was a wonderful stay. We were there for three nights, enjoyed tasty and filling breakfasts. The staff was very nice and helpful, both in pointing out places to go and things to do. We're looking forward to our next trip to Skye so we can stay there again.
Myself, my husband, 2 sons and 2 dogs stayed at Taigh Ailean in August 2021 for 2 nights. We were warmly welcomed by Katie and staff. The room was clean, cosy and well equipped. After keeping in touch with Katie we were welcomed back for breakfast whilst travelling on the NC500. Breakfast did not disappoint and was as delicious as it was on our first stay! Definitely choose the porridge with whisky and cream, followed by a hearty Scottish breakfast! Katie made us and our pups feel very at home. Cannot recommend Taigh Ailean enough as a great base to explore beautiful Skye ❤️
One of my most favourite places in the world to kick back, relax and appreciate the amazing hospitality from Katie and Johnny and their wonderful staff. The most perfect breakfast menu to start your day, and always on hand with a guide book or advice on where to go and how to fill your days. Been many times, as a family, just with my children and the dog, taken friends with us many times and even did a girls weekend there!!! There really is something for everybody. Go get booking!! Xxx
Been here twice now. And if I’m lucky enough to visit Skye again ,I’d choose this place again. Yes it’s remote but beautiful. Staff go out of their way to help you and make your stay memorable. With Katie even going the extra mile and making a trip to the butcher for my husband so he could have a roll and sausage for his breakfast the next day! We were extremely lucky on our last visit to see the northern lights. So peaceful and rooms have everything you need.
Lovely choices of breakfast (see website for full list) - so very accommodating for my vegan friend which is a miracle. Katie and Johnny advised we booked restaurants in advance and we are so pleased we did as it helped us plan our day and make the most of the lovely eateries across the island. Great places to go, but Katie told us of some fantastic places to go that arent on the tourist map. This was incredible as we felt we had the island to ourselves on occasions. Overall a great balanced restorative holiday. Peaceful hotel with a family feel.
