Ye Olde Swan is situated in a stunning location aside the River Thames at Radcot Bridge, originally an old packhorse bridge on the main wool export route from Northampton to Southampton.
The bridge, which claims to be the oldest crossing of the Thames was built around 1200. Ye Olde Swan has been a stopping off point for weary shepherds and travellers for hundreds of years to enjoy fine ales and good food. Nothing has changed, though the sheep have long since disappeared.
In the summer our large river frontage garden is an ideal place to watch the river cruisers and canal boats drift past. We have sixty moorings so an ideal place to park the boat and enjoy our hospitality. We can also offer camping and if that doesn’t quite do it for you, we will shortly be offering Glamping packages.
So whether your floating down the Thames, walking the Thames, or crossing the Thames and very occasionally we have people swimming the Thames, do pop in and enjoy our pub and its surroundings.

Food a bit of a hit and miss. Fish & chips good. Chilli was tainted with something - not good. Beef lasagne dry. Butcombe draught beer kept to an acceptable standard. Probably should have had the Otter ale. Overall very average.
Spent 3 days glamping here for Radfest and it was absolutely amazing. The pub is fantastic, have been there many times before. The festival atmosphere made the weekend even more special. Super friendly staff and lovely food cooked outside. Love this place 😀
Had a fantastic weekend there for the Sausage and Cider festival. Music was brilliant. The campsite was beautiful. Very clean toilets and showers. Toilets always had loo roll lol. Great friendly atmosphere with no trouble whatsoever. Will be staying for a week next year!!! Just got back from Radfest 2023 and it was amazing! A free two day live music event with so many amazing bands! The atmosphere was beautiful and friendly. So many smiling people dancing and singing their hearts out along with the bands! No trouble at all. Lots of fur babies of every breed welcome and they were all so well behaved too! Campsite still top of the range, ( loo roll always stocked! Lol). Made a lot of new friends and can’t wait for next year. If camping book early as plots go fast!
Nice Pub, original in the atmosphere and in the fun garden, quiet and pleasant surrounded by nature on the bank of the Thames. Suitable for weekend full English breakfast which by the way we greatly appreciated for the quality and cooking of the products, also for spending a sunny afternoon outdoors for an aperitif (not very satisfied with the dishes ordered especially the tasteless and dry pulled pork ), the staff behind the bar are helpful and welcoming. To go back to try again
A lovely meal in beautiful surroundings by the canal. We had the snug - 5 adults, 2 children and a dog. Very comfortable for all of us. Food was excellent and prices reasonable. Ample room out back to walk a restless dog and distract children.
