Fantastic Thai food served in a cosy country pub setting. My favourite is the Pad Ped, which explodes with amazing flavours in your mouth. Add a pint or two of local Shere Drop...what more can you want?! Update December 2023 - we had a delicious birthday dinner at the Barley Mow tonight. Started with the spring rolls and satay chicken (the dips they come with are amazing), then my favourite chicken Pad Ped! If you enjoy Thai cuisine in a real pub, serving proper beer, give them a try.
Really great well kept cellar, with Surrey Hills Shere Drop a favourite. And accompanied with some of the best Thai food I’ve had!
Excellent Thai food, especially the prawn dishes. English food is also available, but I've never tried it. Beer from Fullers, Surrey Hills, and Hogs Back breweries (although not usually all at the same time!).
On entering the pub… not much of an atmosphere, booked a table as a couple & were the only people in there, service was good & very friendly … both starters were great, main meal for me left a lot to be desired … it was sitting under a hot plate for at least 10 minutes while a takeaway was being prepared & other as I could see what was happening through to the kitchen. The egg noodles nice tasty & hot, the Crispy Thai Chicken was “Near Cold Not Crispy & unfortunately well over cooked which made it very Dry, Hard & tough to eat so I left most of it on the plate .. wife’s main good with no complaints. Did speak to the waitress about the chicken but unfortunately no explanation came back from the kitchen or management & were clearly not bothered. Would I go there again ?! Absolutely Not
This is a lovely pub with lots of space and warm fires to huddle around. They serve Thai food here and it was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was brilliant and staff were very friendly. Will definitely be returning.
