THE PICKEREL IS RUN BY ELTON AND JAZZ WHO HAVE BEEN AT THE PUB FOR THE LAST 12 YEARS, LIVE MUSIC EVERY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY!
The Pickerel Inn is a 500 year old pub, which was home to Victoria Cross awarded Spencer John Bent. Today it serves as a live music venue on weekends and a cosy pub on weekday evenings from 6pm to 11pm, open from midday Fridays & Saturdays. Also available for booking for events with catering for all budgets.
Really nice place, good space with a pool table and dart board to keep you entertained. Had a few different drinks which were all reasonably priced and the buffet food was good too. Would definitely go again :)
Saw a band playing there who are really good. The place was packed and very tall men seeming to stand at the front.
Great pub for live music on Fridays & Saturdays. We were entertained by Trailer Trash on this occasion. Glad they had a couple of cask ales on the bar,and at reasonable prices too!
Fantastic pub! The staff are very kind and welcoming, and last Saturday they had a Halloween special gig, with a brilliant band called Kickin up Dust, who performed in costume and really made my night! I will definitely be coming back, and I hope to see them there again!
Went to watch local band Fuze play at the Pickerel. Good venue. Was a bit warm but the pub had a big fan blowing air through the crowd which helped. A good night out.

A rare example of a back-street pub that was a former beer house and has only had a full license since 1962. Tucked away, but located quite close to the nearby railway station with its magnificent early Victorian facade.

Convenient for railway station. A pub with a reputation for good value Sunday lunches. Live music on Sat eve. Purchased from Greene King by pub regular Peter Garner, who has renovated & re-opened it in March 2011.
