Situated close to the town centre and decorated to a high standard, but retaining its original timber frame, wood panelling and doors.
It consists of two rooms separated by an archway with TV screens in both rooms for sporting events. There is an array of water jugs above the bar. Ample parking is available adjacent to a partially covered area leading to a paved beer garden. Real ales are normally sourced from local breweries.
The service, atmosphere, and hygiene is one of the best out of all the pubs in Bungay. The staff behind the bar are lovely and friendly and there is loads of heaters in the outside smoking area too making it comfortable and warm in winter.
I had a great evening of drinks with my BroInLaw and his crazy farmer friends! One of the few pubs left in Bungay town. I usually judge a good pub based on how friendly the staff are, quality of the beer / ale, and the variety of bar snacks, this place has it all. I will be back!
Great pub. Excellent staff. Very good range of beer
A fine local, offering a warm welcome and serving (amongst others) a range of Bull of the Woods beers that are brewed just a couple of miles up the road. No regular food, though there are occasional BBQs during the summer, along with year round, well supported events, such as live music and quizzes. The pub comprises a comfortable bar area and a spacious, low maintenance garden, with outdoor heaters available for cooler weather.
Iy must have been a good ten years since I was last in here. And what a transformation. Great pub with a proper atmosphere. Some good ales to choose from. And Rosco is a very warm and welcoming landlord. Long may it last. See you again soon we hope.

Hello, since 2007 we've owned and run The Castle Inn. The Inn itself dates back to at least 1566 so we're proud to be playing a small part in its history whilst hopefully moving the tradition of inn keeping forward.
