A great pub popular for serving delicious homemade traditional pub fayre…
As the name suggests it is perfectly situated for the steam train as well as only 100 yards from arguably the most stunning beach the island has to offer. The building is particularly handsome and the atmosphere extremely welcoming.
We recommend taking the train down south and enjoying a fabulous meal here before sampling the pleasures Port Erin has to offer.
The chicken goujons were amazing, the way they were lightly battered. But we had a table for 11, everyone loved their meals. Excellent service, great night
Fantastic cozy place in Port Erin. We even had the opportunity to participate in a local quiz night. The staff was super friendly and informative.
The food was absolutely sublime. It was exactly what we were looking for and had such a lovely atmosphere. The waiter we had was lovely and incredibly helpful. Overall, Excellent Pub\Restaurant. 👍
We have eaten in here quite a few times. The service is always a bit hit and miss. Food always good. We went as a family group last Sunday and we were served by the rudest lady behind the bar. I asked where we should sit as requested by the sign in the doorway. She said what just for a drink? I replied that we would like to order some food to which she sighed and rolled her eyes. She pointed to a table and said abruptly sit at that one in the middle. We went up to place our order and forgot to look up our table number. To which she replied well I can't see through walls can I! Once the food order was placed the bar lady said is that it? We said yes that's it for food but need to order our drinks. Her response was well that's quite clearly not everything is it! The food was the usual good standard but our experience was ruined by the shocking attitude and rudeness of the bar lady. They did look busy and a bit stressed but no need to take it out on the customer's. I myself work in the service industry and I would never speak to my customers in that way. It will be a long time before we visit again.
Conveniently located across the road from the train station. Great food selections along with friendly service. The burgers are tasty.

Castletown, Isle of Man, IM9
Quaint, cosy and full of charm from a bygone era. ‘The Glue Pot’ as it is far better known sits right on the harbour in Castletown and is literally a stone’s throw from Castle Rushen.

A registered historic building dating back to 1833. Steeped in history, some of it a little dark…
