Restaurant excellent. Delicious, inventive and beautifully presented dishes. Great. Chef. Friendly staff. Very good value for hand crafted locally sourced creations.

We went to the speech house Christmas party, we paid £42.50 per person to attend. Staff are friendly, although was extremely disappointed by the food, my topside of beef was a bit fatty and the portions weren’t very generous (I ended up with beef, Yorkshire pudding, one slice of a carrot, a couple brussel sprouts and two potatoes etc). The brownie for pudding was a bit pathetic, as speech house is upper scale I would have expected something a bit more premium. The bar was really nice with great selection, although £4.05 for a J20 is extremely expensive. Other drinks were really expensive too. The disco put on was really nice, overall I would recommend the Christmas party they offer, but it feels like a bit of a rip off.

Lovely site, the building holds a lot of interest. The lack of parking presented a problem for us and others. Dropped a star on service, this down to the member of staff that served us. There was no interaction or interest at all, we said goodbye with a view to giving a tip, 3 times. We were totally blanked. Otherwise, it was a pleasant visit and good food with nice size portions.

Good Afternoon Tea, catered for our party. Staff good and managed well with wedding at the same time. Drinks reasonable and lovely setting if visiting. Not eaten in restaurant but hear its good.

Have been to the Speech House for lunch twice over the past couple of months with family and the service, ambience and food has been faultless. Had the British board during my last visit which consisted of warm sausage rolls, scotch eggs and quiche along with a lovely ketchup. All homemade and all delicious. The hot drinks are good quality and the homemade biscuits are so good you will want more. The staff really make the visit enjoyable as they are always smart, efficient and friendly. Lovely that you can take dogs in the orangery or in the garden on a nice day. Really look forward to returning as want to try the cream tea next 😀
