Food is always good and served within a reasonable time. A bit slack on clearing tables, premises otherwise clean. Friendly atmosphere. Disabled access at back of pub and lift to 1st floor toilets.
Went expecting a basic budget hotel. We got lovely clean room, with plenty of space. A desk and chairs with a super king-size bed. The bath room was lovely and big. Staff were friendly and helpful. An excellent stay and I will stay here again. I have stayed again and it was good again and on another occasion. However, I went on Sunday 17th with someone who has celiacs. The person behind the bar refused to let us talk to the chef to see what he could do. Nothing apparently. It was not a busy night and there seemed to be plenty of staff but the drinks took an age to get to us when ordering on the app. So not as impressed as I was. I was not staying there this time just meeting for drinks and a meal. I've not marked the stars down because of previous visits but on that day it was 2 stars at best.
I went in for lunch and ordered a wrap, it didn't let me remove the sauce on the app so I went to the bar and asked if I could have the spicy mayo removed. They said yeah and I went and sat back down, 5 minutes later when my food arrived the wrap had spicy mayo on, I asked if I could have a new wrap as I asked for it to be removed (I asked immediately after paying on the app). The waitress took my wrap then came back with it and essentially said "tough they'd already made it". I couldn't eat the wrap so had to order something else. Awful experience, will not return
The hotel is amazing. Being disabled they quickly offered me assistance as the day of my arrival, the lift broke down, and all the starf have gone above and beyond to help me. The rooms are spacious. I had a wet room instead of a bath as this is my last night. I am definitely recommending the hotel to friends.
Nice large triple aspect room. Tea making facilities with hot chocolate and biscuits on the tray. Room was a little cold even though heating on full. For some reason I was not able to turn off the bedside lights
