We popped in for meal when it appeared no where else in Watchet was able to and we weren't disappointed. Friendly service and good food. The Pulled Pork Lasagne was really good and I'd definitely recommend.
Stayed with a mate in two rooms for 4 nights , room were fantastic tea and Coffee on tap hot shower , towels, open access and just above a bar what more could you ask for. Oh and a cracking price cheers Sarah x
Excellent 2 night stay. Good size room. Very clean and great value for money. Staff very friendly and would recommend to all. Certainly on my must visit again list.
A Father’s Day treat for a dad whose children have flown the nest. A pat on the back for time served and a few days’ distraction by the sea in a pub with a generous variety of beers, etc, yum food and a comfy bed upstairs. No lift but a straight flight of stairs leads to a clean fresh roomy room. So pleasant! Altho it looks out onto the street, it is unintrusive at night. The pub shares the street with a variety of friendly shops/cafes, PO, a barber, a museum or three, the marina, steam train station are just a few dozen steps away in different directions. There is seating++ inside, upright and easy armchairs and outside booths provide some privacy whilst enjoying one’s tipple. I noted a couple of bikes parked in the courtyard. Altho there is a public carpark just across the road, I wondered if we motored down on our bike, whether they would accommodate our pride and joy in the enclosed yard. West Somerset Hotel serves food but there is a different timetable on a certain day. There is a kebab shop and Co-op on the same street if you miss mealtimes. The food served is good and plenty of it. We enjoyed ours. WSH doesn’t do breakfast but brekky can be found elsewhere and earlyish in the morning. There is a DJ who entertains on an evening(s). There was a Birthday karaoke/knees up/dancing on one of the evenings we were there on the floor which was quite enjoyable, with DJ in attendance. The bar and auxiliary staff are approachable and helpful. Altogether a delightful stay.
We popped in for something to eat expecting average pub food. What we were served is what are possibly the best burgers in Somerset! (they are made 50 yards up the road in the local butchers and cooked on a smoker on site) Fantastic food at a great price and the service was excellent too! A must visit if you want a burger or a smoked brisket roll like my wife had!
