Had some good laughs here. But Lord help me no thanks
Managed to get in here when the Kendal free music festival was on and it was a great little venue. would come again
Fantastic Bar with a bit of Zing, Andy or AKA 'Milli" the owner is so professional and welcoming. His staff are always very friendly and Leo does a mean cocktail.Just ask for a 'Leo'. Together with the 3am finishes, world cup football, and Sunday karaoke nights I would totally recommend a night or two at Smokies Retro Bar. It's Defo got the Zing for me. #kaboom
Perhaps I was there on a bad night. I would have left immediately if it wasn't for the fact I was meeting a friend there. Is described in one of the other reviews, there is a distinct aroma when you enter. It wasn't a quick visit and by 23:00 there was a visible different in the types of customers coming and going. The volume was turned up to full between the customers sitting with each other but the long distance conversations were great to listen to. Much of the conversations are not for little ears. In a town with very little quality to offer visitors in the evening I can see how this bar has its attractiveness. Will I go back? Perhaps for memory sake, for another catch-up with friends, definitely not.
Quick drinks service and good prices, esp during daytime. A mix of decor with some comfy sofas and log burner. Excellent music and party atmosphere at weekends. Renovated January 2017.
