came here with family (group of 16!) on a Saturday afternoon and was really impressed. The waitress was friendly and efficient and the whole experience was smooth considering we were a large group ordering three courses plus drinks at a peak time. Food was also tasty :)
The starter course was brilliant. It was a wild boar and rabbit pasty with garish and mustard sauce. The main course I selected was a full traditional Christmas dinner. The desert was a chocolate and sherry trifle, which was excellent, and I would have happily had seconds.
A great welcome 🤗, a charming service, and amazing food in picturesque surroundings, thank you.
It's a really great atmosphere and the garden is massive and well maintained, really great for the summer. The food was nice, but nothing mind blowing. The service wasn't great, the staff are nice and polite, but lacked experience as food would come out at different times and the servers would have to ask the same questions multiple times. It was also slow service and wasn't that busy.
Fantastic Sunday lunch experience. I had the Roast Beef (with Yorkshire Pud) and my Partner had the combo Roast Beef & Roast Pork. The dishes come with cabbage, carrots and roast potatoes. We ordered additional cauliflower cheese and they also brought us an extra gravy boat of the delicious gravy. My Partner then had the mango cheesecake for desert. Very welcoming, especially as we had our dog with us (booked in to eat in the bar vs the restaurant). All in all a fabulous, relaxing Sunday lunch. We will certainly be back.
