The Ship Inn dates from the 18th century and is the birth place of Sir Thomas Bouch; a great Victorian engineer. Situated on the edge of the green in a quiet village. A warm welcome is assured from staff and locals giving a friendly atmosphere to this pub. Up to three ever changing real ales are served; currently from the Heineken guest ales list. Camp site at Crofton. The village is served by fairly regular bus service.

Compact country pub car park, friendly staff, great food and free electric hook up if available. We 'Brit Stopped' a motorhome and were very pleased with everything. So glad we pre-booked, as limited van space. Excellent overall and would happily eat there again.
We had an excellent meal. The steak was cooked the way Mark wanted it and the Cumberland sausage was very tasty. Fantastic atmosphere in the bar afterwards
Fantastic place to eat lovely food and lovely staff cant do enough for you
Short of the mark this time, 45mins wait for food... No fish on menu, limited menu... £10 for literally a burger in a bun and chips... Albeit nice homemade chips....no garnish no peas, no pickles... Anyway may have caught em at a bad time..Good time bad time my wallet still empties the same..
Found this pub through Brit Stops. Great service - very friendly staff. Lovely food for a couple of vegetarians. Nice to see local people eating local - always a good sign. Also nice to see folk playing dominios. Will definitely pop in again. Stayed overnight in car park - felt very safe & secure.
