We were lucky to get a table for 6 without booking. Do make a reservation. Friendly polite service. Varied menu, for drinks and food too. Comfortable, relaxing atmosphere
Situated next to a marina, has a Co-op next door and a two minute walk to the Dockside shopping centre, everything you need is around you. Rooms in the hotel have a nautical theme, some of which are looking a bit tired. Walls/doors are fairly thin, so you hear most activity in surrounding rooms and connecting corridor. Overall, the hotel is comfortable to stay in and the food in the adjoining restaurant is good quality, along with the service.
Nice bar/restaurant with rooms. I stayed for two nights and was impressed with the location and rooms. The food in the restaurant was nice but not outstanding. The panko breadcrumbs fell off all my squid and the beef while good looked like it had been under a heat lamp too long. Breakfast was excellent
Very clean. Great lunchtime choice. Excellent waitress but very very busy so had a long wait. Food was OK but bread looked like it been under a warming light. But still very tasty. Could not fault the service at all. Very pleasant and attentive.
We visited here for a lunch. It's a lovely location where the boats are, has a quite good atmosphere. However the food massively let it down. I ordered a fish finger sandwich as I hadn't had one for many years since I was a child. The fish itself was not a fish finger but more like battered cod pieces which was much nicer and I was very happy. However, I had hoped it would come in some fresh bread, maybe sourdough? Instead they put it in the cheapest white sliced bread you can find. It was a real let down if I'm honest. Especially for the money you spend. My partner also had the steak. It was not cooked to his specifications and came cold. He didn't want it sent back because he was hungry. I liked the pub, but the standard of food needs to be better for what they are charging, which would then tip them over into being a really good pub.
