Cruise ship port of call Lerwick, returning from Norwegian Fjords, so popped in here. Rough and ready bar, no frills, like it!! Would have stayed a while longer but "The Enemy" found Jimmy Perez's ("Shetland") house quicker than I thought she would! You can just imagine the fellas that have been bounced out of the door and down the hill over the years. Sign inside the pub ðŸ¤
Good, friendly staff. Good selection of beers. Downstairs - open locals saloon bar, upstairs cosy carpeted lounge bar. Can bring your own food. 3 hrs of fantastic, true Shetland folk music, every Wednesday. Dogs welcome!
Quick service. Small simple place. Everyone else seemed to know each other so as tourists maybe not as much for us. Had one beer and left was cold and good price. We had Tenant's and Carling extra cold but they had plenty of local beers too. If you're a fan of the show Shetland, fun to check out and realize it's nothing like on the show at least.
Had seen the frontage on the TV series Shetland and popped in to see what it was like. Basic but friendly pub downstairs and upstairs, as it was Wednesday, was live music. Fairly busy and great fiddle, piona, banjo, accordian you name it session. Very very good.
Perfect place to stay and enjoy a wide selection of draft beers. If you're from a cruise be sure to check in with Conno on the cruise industry and the history of the islands. Also a selection of instruments there to play of you're in the mood. Have a good time here as well. Thanks for your hospitality!
