We didn't have high hopes after walking in, only because it's so small, we assumed they probably wouldn't bother putting loads of effort into food when they don't have many to feed. We were very wrong. The steak pie was packed full of meat and was delicious. The puds were great portions and equally as delicious. It's a lovely little hideaway and I'm glad we've found it. Staff also very nice and welcoming.
Market day in Skipton so we needed a refuel, the steak and kidney pudding was recommended by the next table, packed with massive pieces of steak claiming to be 1lb (500g) in weight it was the best one I've had.My wife had the Royal Shepherd pie very tasty and generous portions, dog friendly, very helpful staff, CAMRA 10% discount on food, good choice of hand pulled ales and near the canal bet it's popular in summer, well worth seeking out away from the main street
Enjoyed our visit to this pub in Skipton. The staff were so nice, the food was really good. We had their burgers, special menu lasagna and fish n chips. The burger was monstrous, could’ve been juicer 😅 Classic pub food tastes. Would recommend.
Visited for lunch after spotting signs for following the arrows to this great pub. Have to say we were not disappointed. We ordered the burger and for the little one had chicken nuggets. This was possibly the best (also biggest) burger we had ever eaten. Not forgetting the fluffy but crispy chips too! Would visit again if in Skipton and recommend to anyone in the area.
Can't believe we've never found this gem of a place until now. The steak and kidney pudding ( which weighs in at 16oz) is probably the best I've ever had, everything home cooked and fresh. Beer was in perfect condition and very favourably priced. Staff friendly and attentive. We finished our drinks outside overlooking the canal boats Perfect 👌👌👌👌
