James and the team would like to welcome you to The Royal Oak, a brick built Victorian pub set in the heart of Borough, London.
Nestled on the corner, London high-rises have sprung up around our charming boozer, leaving it an untouched homage to a time when pubs were a place to go for a quiet pint after work, or to put the world to rights with friends.
The first London pub Harvey’s Brewery acquired, we like to stay pretty low key keeping it simple with good beer and good food. We are the secret watering hole of many a Sussex expat, lover of Harvey’s, and cask beer enthusiasts nationally, and internationally!
We were voted one of the UK’s top ten pubs in 2010 (Daily Telegraph), listed number 23 in the Evening Standard's Top 50 pubs in London' December 2023, one of the best pubs in Borough (Londonist), and currently hold a five star rating in Time Out London, and we are also regularly featured in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide. We were also recently awarded SE London CAMRA Pub of the Year 2023!

Super pub near Borough tube from Harvey’s, the Lewes based brewery. Beer is well kept, service friendly and it has a great atmosphere - not TV and no music! Particularly good for lovers of a good pint of mild.
Quiet and traditional pub a few minutes walk from Borough tube station. The staff were friendly and the beer was good, looks to have a decent selection of traditional pub food on the menu that would be good to try on the next visit. Worth a visit if you are in the local area and seeking something out the way and a bit more traditional.
Good selection of Stouts ! The Old Ale was my favorite. A little bit sweet with tones of cherry . The Sussex best was also great ( no a stout though)
A right classy pub, fab atmosphere, esp on a winter’s eve, lovely windows framed by the soft internal lighting. Brilliantly kept beer, Harvey’s dark mild a stand-out and at 3% a good choice for a lengthy session. Oh, and great staff behind the bar🙂
A fine traditional pub, close to Borough underground station. The Royal Oak offers a select range of beers both from the keg and the cask including a rarely seen. Dark Mild ready for pulling! Lovely service and a very pleasant atmosphere made this a very enjoyable stop on a busy schedule.
