While we haven’t been here quite that long, we’re proud to continue the tradition of good old fashioned service, home cooked food and a warm welcome for all!
The whole village is delighted that the recently opened bypass has returned Ridgmont to a quiet rural haven for families, walkers or day-trippers.
High quality and traditional English food is always on the menu at The Rose and Crown. We use only fine ingredients to create seasonal menus of great pub grub.
Our team are experienced in catering for large scale events and are happy to take on Birthday parties, weddings and christenings, or any other event you are looking for. An unpretentious village pub with a good welcome, good atmosphere, a good menu and great food to the table. Very child and dog friendly, the bar and dining are separate, but a range of cooked snacks are available in the bar and garden ( weather and season permitting). For formal and party occasions a separate private event room is available and well used. At the rear of the pub is a camping / caravan site, with a range of pitches for tents and caravans, EHU points are plentiful and well spaced. There is clean tap water, 'brown water' drainage for elsans, and a very adequate toilet block offering hot showers and toilets for campers. Open all year, bookable by phone.
Visited this traditional village pub on several occasions. Have always been greeted with a smile and friendly hello. The food is so delicious and the portions very generous. The bar and waiting staff are very friendly and accommodating. The locals are also very welcoming and chatty. Would recommend the Macaroni Cheese! It's the best I've EVER had.
Lovely little pub with warm welcome and great food, we walk from home to pub, Sunday lunch today not too busy, food was nice as usual. Recommend people around this village visit
Traditional country pub with pretty beer garden. Stopped for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised by the range of vegan and vegetarian options, as well as the excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend.
Traditional village pub serving food. The staff where really friendly and the whole atmosphere felt welcoming. The food was nice and best described as traditional pub grub, the menu isn't massive (not a bad thing) but with a decent selection vegetarian and pescatarian options.
