We booked a table for lunch. We had 3 large dogs with us and the staff were very kind and caring to us and the dogs. The food was fantastic and they gave us extra jugs of gravy and custard when we asked. Thank you xx
They were very rude, we wanted to eat outside because we came with bicycles and they were not locked, but they said they could not serve food outside. We asked them to put it in the takeaway boxes, but they said they couldn't do it because there was no takeaway today. We wanted a table where we could at least see our bikes, but they told us that only one table was suitable and they could not give us another table, even though it was 12 o'clock and all the tables were empty! They definitely didn't try to be helpful at all and were very rude.
Great pub for food and a drink after our walk along the Transpennine trail with our baby and dog. We were greeted by the friendly owner into a welcoming warm dinning area. We sat near the cast iron fire whilst we skimmed the food menu and ordered drinks. We had the steak, thick cut chips and greens in a 2 course meal, which we both thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend.
Nice pub lunch but nothing overly special. Roast dinner was average (dry turkey, not much gravy & undercooked cabbage) but the potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were lovely. Would recommend the steak pie. Service was friendly and quick. Nearly didn’t get a table as we didn’t book on a Sunday but when we sat down there were plenty of tables free.
Super service and a warm welcome from Paul and Kai. Compliments to the chef on some superb dishes- calamari, beer battered fish n chips and the cote de beouf. Exceptionnelle 👌
