Appears to be permanently closed. Stayed at the campsite over the weekend hoping to have a meal here one night but no signs of life and the place looks abandoned.
Unfortunately the pub is closed and has been apparently for about a month even though the website/Google is saying it is open. We are very disappointed as booked to stay at the campsite behind the pub and was not informed that the pub was shut until a campsite neighbour told us. Has put a bit of a dampner on the weekend as we were going to be eating in the pub but luckily have just enough food to keep us going. Would of given no starts but not an option. Butcombe Brewery sort yourselves out and update your information or at least put an answer phone message on the pins number to say they are closed. Hopefully it will open again in the near future.
Found this fab place whilst staying at nearby campsite. Went for drinks few times whilst going back to campsite. Owners so friendly and welcoming. Booked for dinner on " fish friday".... Great choice of specials and menu, portion sizes superb....fish freshly cooked to order and soooo tasty . Even did takeaway scampi for our dogs ! Will definitely visit again if in area. Thanks for making our cold January break worthwhile
Had a lovely meal here whilst staying at the adjacent campsite. I believe the pub is under new management and they are taking time to adjust. The food was delicious and the portions were a good size. My only criticism (that was quickly addressed) was the slightly loud music that was distracting when trying to dine and have a conversation. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful place with an amazing Sunday carvery, meats were tender and melted in your mouth, huge choice of veg and friendly staff you can have a laugh with! We booked a table on the same day and sat outside, the dog was with us and she was even given a tiny few tasters on a plate by the owner;) the weather was sunny and the cider drank beautifully...thanks folks, we have found our Sunday chill with you!
