The Ring O’Bells is an 18th Century “free house” pub in the Somerset village of Ashcott near Street and Glastonbury, which for the last 30 years has been run by our family partnership of John and Elaine Foreman and Elaine’s brother, John Sharman
A unique pub with unique food, all prepared by us in our own kitchens. Local meat from a local butcher. Somerset produce at its best. Daily Specials blackboard including freshly made desserts. Home-made fudge with your coffee to finish! Please click below to see our varied main menu and look out for our seasonal and special weeks which will be published on the website.
We are a genuine Free House and it is our policy to feature beers from small independent breweries, many from the West Country but occasionally also more “exotic” visitors! The range of beers varies constantly but our list of forthcoming beers usually includes at least one beer from one of the local micro breweries.

Popped in for a quick drink great old pub fantastic service will be back for food...
Lovely pub, friendly and welcoming and very importantly, dog friendly. We took our family for a roast yesterday and it didn’t disappoint. They loved it, Absolutely delicious! Great beer garden too
This is a great local countryside pub, with a good selection of drinks and friendly staff. The food here is delicious particularly the Sunday carvery.
Lovely dinner for 2 Spring roll starter. I had the homemade pie with loads of veg and cheesy mash. She had grilled salmon but thought the mash had a bit too much cheese. Well kept beer.
My 3rd visit. If you like great home cooked food and generous portions, you will love Ring O Bells. Plates are piping hot. Service is superb and swift even when busy. Better still the price will bowl you over. Nice wood burning stove will ensure you are well cooked too.

Situated off the A39 by its intersection with the A361 from Taunton. The pub comprises two buildings of contrasting architectural design – the earlier inn is said to date from the 1600s and a larger structure added later.
