(CHECK IN) Stayed here for 2 weeks solo as my parents stayed else where, arrived around 9am, girls on reception were very helpful and I was shown to my room I didn't expect it to be ready. (ROOM) Cleaners came in everyday to make the bed, fresh towels and clean around nothing was ever taken. I never put my sign out for room be cleaned or not to be cleaned and they still went in when I was out. Air-conditioning and safe included in the price. Bottles of water left everyday in the fridge. (LOCATION) Lovely grounds and place to stay just a shame you can hear the mopeds and cars going past your room late at night. Around 10/15 min walk to main bars, shops and beach. 7 Eleven Supermarket couple minutes walk. Supparat lovely food and very good prices. I used Marina Laundry over the road 300baht for 7kg wash and dry smells lovely. (COMPLAINTS NOT HOTEL FAULT) 1 night I had trouble with next door from 11.30pm till around 4.30am been very loud complained to security twice the next morning I went to reception and the girls solved the problem straight away and moved me rooms can't remember there names but I couldn't thank them enough. (23/11/23 (BREAKFAST) I went the first morning and didn't return after that only 2 options. First choice was 2 local sausage, eggs, local ham and toast. Second choice I think it was omelette. Served with a glass or orange juice and coffee. Breakfast does need working on but seems to be a lot of long term people living here so I can imagine it not be worth putting a spread on.
Lovely hotel, fab location, we stayed in the sail loft room which has private terrace/balcony with lake views, it was gorgeous just a shame about the fog ruining the view ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ We took advantage of the winter dinner bed and breakfast deal and have to say we were not disappointed. The food was amazing๐ Thank you
Hotel was fab clean and friendly staff. Gorgeous views. Great choice for breakfast. The boat trip was amazing. We did the 5 mile coffin walk and got the open top bus back from Grasmere. Not before we tried the gingerbread in the little shop were it was made xx
We have been using this hotel for several years and always been well satisfied. We were not aware that the hotel had changed hands, nor that the chef had only been in site for five days, when we arrived. The staff were all fine, the rooms clean and well serviced. Our main concerns were the lack of choice on the evening menu, which was a piece of A4 paper. Most of the food offered was fried, or high in fat. Other than fish and chips, no other fish was on the menu. Items were unavailable, which meant very little choice. I know we could have eaten elsewhere, but we are usually happy to eat in the hotel after walking all day. The wine list was a joke- the cheapest was like paintstripper. Very little choice, which we found amazing as the Inn group is a large concern. Very disappointing stay, don't think we'll be back in a hurry. We've stayed here twice a year, for five years and always been happy. Not this time!!
This is a hotel which is very well presented. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, very clean and well portioned and presented. Great view out from room 42 through the trees looking out to lake. Breakfast was really good and well staffed for great service. Although we didn't ask for the room to be cleaned, it was anyway which was a nice surprise on our return. There's a nice selection of lounge space to sit in. Definitely worth a short or long stay Ambleside in easy walking distance and plenty of eateries. So 5 stars from me Just a very small note which I wouldn't take a star off the review I'm a old fashioned kind of person and like traditional food which this hotel doesn't serve. I would stay again as I love great service and been treated like the customer is king which is how I run my business. Thanks for a lovely couple of days โค๏ธ๐
