Excellent service by Ryan. Very polite and attentive. The atmosphere was very nice and homey. The food was absolutely delicious and very well prepared. Very impressed. Me and my partner came here on the off chance after going to Thursford lights then we decided to drive to Fakenham and found this beautiful restaurant. We had a lovely dinner. We definitely will be coming again. Thankyou to the Staff and Chefs for a lovely meal.

We had a wonderful meal here. The roasted pork belly and hake fillet with chorizo and butter bean were great. My daughter had the prawns on shells starter, which arrived with 5 langoustins in a delicious sauce. The staff went out of the way to accommodate our last minute party of 7 with young kids and were very helpful and relaxed. The restaurant room upstairs was lovely. Warm, cosy and very upmarket with a piano and Christmas decor and nice lighting. Very glad to have found this, we will be back soon as we are often in this area. Highly recommend.

Very good food that came recommended by several locals. There isn't an advertised veggie ut they do have veggie and vegan swapouts. However, they ran out of veggie sausages hence 4 not 5 stars.

My brother Greg and I were looking for a quick meal after checking into the Rampant Horse Hotel in Fakenham, and we're looking for a quick bite nearby. We didn't expect to find much in this town which has seen better times! But we were directed to the fabulous Red Lion Lounge( which looked like just another pub-- but wasn't!). The downstairs bar/ restaurant looked pretty smart, well lit and with an interesting menu. The vivacious manageress was friendly and helpful and, after a generous G and T, I ordered a pork chop, not expecting much, as did Greg( who is a hopeless Aussie carnivore). But what arrived was a succulent slab of tender pork, smothered in a home made simple tomato sauce, and a huge array of veggies. And tender stem broccoli is hard to keep green( but they did, finishing it under the grill). Sorry no photo, but I couldn't wait to eat it.. The dessert was even smarter, with Greg's dish accompanied by a beautiful edible inscription ( see photo). But he could no longer focus to read it, after polishing off a bottle of merlot by himself, after several beers... So if I'm anywhere near Norfolk again I would willingly drive 50 miles to Fakenham, on an empty stomach, to sample the delights of the Red Lion Lounge. It's not a pub, a cafe or snack bar; it has a talented chef, professional restaurant staff and a great menu in a Wild West town.

Stopped in for breakfast whilst killing time while my motorcycle was being worked on at a local garage. Opted for the full English breakfast as it’s been a while since I’ve indulged in one. The food was really good, well cooked and quality products used. I’ve given it 4 stars simply down to value for money as you only receive 1 sausage, 1 piece of bacon etc for £8.50 (no drink included) at the time of writing this review (19/05/23). Other options in the area provide more (including a drink) for less.
