Friendly traditional pub in the heart of Widcombe, Bath.
Went to the Widcombe Deli for lunch which is now in the bar at the Ram. Lovely food, had quiche and salad, but the service was a little slow. No matter, I also had a good half from the bar to keep me going.
Nice pub , good atmosphere always .friendly .good food excellent service . 10 of 10
Bar staff could do with lessons in social skills !!!! Trying to pick arguments with customers is not the way to get customers ? As A Bathonian the Ram used to be a good Pub ? But is now of any pub craw list to tourists or family. The bar staff have right to not serve someone if they believe that they have had enough! But not try to cause a fight ! Better to explain and say I will not serve you because I believe you have had enough .This happened on Saturday the 25th November to a group of 3 over 50yr olds.At approx 10.30pm.Also the little step by the bar is a health and safety problem.Thankfully nobody fell over only tripped .Which seemed to give the impression that one of the 3 had drunk to much .As I said a better and more professional way of handling this situation was more appropriate.and not the aggressive manner in the way it was. As. Drinker in Bath pubs for over 40 years I have never come across aggression of this kind from bar staff.
Did not eat here, just popped in for a drink, but what we had was lovely, and the young lady behind the bar was very helpful especially with our friends dog.
My hubby and I have had a wonderful weekend in Bath and had the pleasure of finding The Ram at Widcombe. We had a fabulous fun couple of days, with friendly locals like Tony and outstanding bar staff like Dylan who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Thank you.
