Chose this place to try for a meal out, and what a great choice it was. We went on a Friday evening and there were still several tables available. The atmosphere was quick relaxed, other customers were almost exclusively adult families and at all noisy. The food was very good and great value for money. I was a little uneasy as to how big my cottage pie would be given it was only £8.99, but when it came out I was pleasantly surprised. Desert was hot apple pie, again at £5.25 it was a reasonable portion size. Before we even finished our meals, my wife an I were talking about going there again with her family.

Our first time there. Yes, very down to earth place, but the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were there for lunch so neither wanted nor expected a large portion. I ordered the 6oz steak with peppercorn sauce. My wife had the fishcakes. Both were piping hot and absolutely fabulous. Yes, you can say cheap and cheerful but the service and the quality of the food was excellent. We'll certainly visit again and certainly recommend it.

A nice meal, staff were all very friendly, super quick with bringing the food out. Fair prices. If we're ever back that way we would definitely consider returning.

What a wonderful pub restaurant. Absolutely fantastic value for money with truly delicious food, I can't recommend this place enough. If you visit here I'm certain you will not be disappointed. Lots to offer on the menu which will cater for all wallets. My gammon was 16oz and £15.50

Great pub, nice staff, great for families and kids. My 10 oz(?) Steak was the smallest I've had anywhere but it tasted great and no fat, gristle on it at all, I ate 100% of it! Pudding was small child size, again tastey but mean portion size!!
