The Moulsham Inn in Chelmsford is a great local pub well known for its flame-grilled steaks and flaming challenges for those who think they can take it on! The pub also shows all the big games live on Sky Sports & TNT Sports too!.
Booked our family Xmas get together here. They were amazing. Managed a booking for 19 people. Happily made changes to our orders a number of times in the lead up to our day. Even in the day when we had late cancellations they did not worry and did not take any of our deposit which we have experienced at other venues. We had little ones who were allowed the freedom to stretch their legs and play together while we waited for everyone to get through the traffic. All the staff were lovely and friendly especially the lovely lady who even gave all the kids a cracker to pull and a chocolate selection box to share ❤️ The food came out all at the same time and the service was brilliant. Food was absolutely amazing and we all loved it. There was no rush and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you so much for taking care of me and my family with such care and thoughtfulness we will definitely be back its not even our local but was worth the drive for the family to all meet in the middle. Even the parking was free 👍 Merry Christmas to all your staff and thank you so much 😊
Went with fairly low expectations but could not have been more surprised. I ordered a steak - something I had vowed not to again in cheaper end chain pubs after it usually turns out to be grissly and just awful. So glad I did though - it was superb and excellent value. The staff were so friendly and efficient as well. Very happy and would definitely return!
We popped in here early afternoon for food recently. We stood at the bar being ignored by the man behind it for a good few minutes. Fair enough, he was doing drinks but a "Hi, I won't be long" would have been nice. We ordered food at the bar with a different lady who was nice but the same man who had ignored us brought the food out and just dumped plates on the table, not bothering to ask who's is who's. Food was nice enough for a chain pub and the gluten free options were good but won't bother going again with service like that.
Popped in here one weeknight evening for dinner. Surprised by the range of choice and how decent the food is for the size chain it is, with comfy seats and cosy booths. Staff were incredibly friendly and couldn't help enough with an odd voucher issue we had. The only downside is having to walk through the pub itself which was home to a club of noisy and sweary men which was a little off putting for a family meal.
It’s quite a pleasant time to stay. The burger is flame grilled with very good smell. Although Chips are very personal that someone may not like skinless, but it is nice to me.
