We had a lovely few days here. Our room had a sea view. The breakfast each morning was cooked well. we have stayed several times here and at one time each breakfast was ordered and cooked fresh rather than the current method of self service. The breakfast was perfectly acceptable but I preferred it when each order was cooked to order. There is a bar which we used. It is usually organised each day by the receptionist. This system works well as the reception is very close to the bar. it has a limited variety of drinks and snacks but they usually have something to suit most people. There were quite a few families staying while we were there but the hotel os organised in such a way that it was still very quiet and relaxing. There are gardens with tables and chairs to sit outside if you want to. Over all we had a lovely stay and will be coming again.

We had a lovely four night stay at the Purbeck House Hotel two weeks ago. Our room was located in the Louisa Lodge which was beautifully clean. The reception was welcoming and efficient at the same time. The breakfast was plentiful and the staff friendly. The location was in Swanage itself - it was really nice to just be able to step out of the door straight into Swanage with the beach just a couple of minutes away. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This is a lovely independent family run hotel. It is a glorious building with a surprisingly large, quiet garden at the rear. It was not very busy when we were there for Sunday/Monday nights in mid-May and the lounges, corridors and shady stairways exuded a peaceful, calm atmosphere. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. They do not do evening meals but there are plenty of places to eat nearby - try The Black Swan pub up the road (but do book in advance by phone!). The breakfasts in the conservatory were excellent. A wide choice and nicely cooked. There is a small bar area. There may be a downside if you are a light sleeper. Given that it is an older building and some original larger rooms have been partitioned, the soundproofing is not what you would find in a more modern hotel but I think the atmosphere of the place still makes this a very lovely hotel to visit.

fantastic location being so close to beach and restaurants. As someone with limited mobility I easily managed the walk into the centre. Reception staff very friendly. Stayed in Louisa Lodge, bed very comfortable; bathroom very tired looking though; walls quite thin as we could hear light switches turned on and off and voices were loud. Breakfast very nice, lots of choice; lovely setting.

Very hard bed so uncomfortable to sleep on for me with an injured back and never enough pillows, tea not replenished for the second day, although breakfast was good, great selection apart from the member of staff getting annoyed, and going on about the wrong spoons being used for self service, and the women at check in who looked me up and down for some reason?? Great location for the beach and town though. Stayed there the first time I stayed in Swanage and now this time.
