The Old Portelet Inn is an old granite building which has been converted into a stunning family pub with a fantastic interior and exterior.
It is surrounded by picturesque views of Jersey's wonderful coastline, great walks and steps down to the beautiful Portelet Bay.
There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating areas to eat the delicious food or sample the real ales on offer, terrestrial tv for major sporting events, an outdoor play area and the brilliant Pirate Pete's indoor supervised play area for the children.
I went here for lunch today with my partner. I cannot rate the food, as we didn't stay. Despite there being just 3 tables occupied in the whole pub, we were not allowed to sit at any of the empty tables and chairs by the cosy fire as, according to the curt waitress, that area is for drinking only. Instead, we were shown to an empty, clinical-looking area behind the bar, which lacks any of the "olde-worlde" charm as promised. A disappointing experience, as we have enjoyed several meals here outside in the summer. I
Absolutely loved this place. Nice olde worlde decor. Staff were all excellent and very friendly. Food was so good we went back again a few days later. Reasonabley priced. Really recommend it. Car park.
Great place to visit, food is nice and plenty of choice for kids. Big soft play centre inside but doesn't feel too noisy. Staff very welcoming
Great pub, good food, lovely staff. I had mussels in a cream sauce with bread and chips, good portion size and tasty. Nice beer gardens well kept. Short walk to the most amazing beach which was nicely quiet and had a beach cafe and bar as well. This is on a bus route from StHelier as well as other places on the island. Well recommended 😀
Lovely meal outside on a sunny day. The surroundings are beautiful & the food is superb. The pizza-garlic-bread starter was lovely, which we shared, my friend's fish & chips looked great, & I enjoyed the most delicious fish pie I have ever eaten! 😋😀😎👍👏
