We have never stayed here but before lockdown we went here a lot for food was delicious staff were lovely was a shame when they haven’t opened back up has a pub .
Smashing place. Out in the sticks but worth the drive to get there. Has ample parking and a recently outfitted children’s area. A cosy atmosphere created by the log burner fireplace is complimented by a good menu and great wine selection. The food is presented well and taste great. The mobile signal is weak but the pub does have free wi-fi available. The children are well catered for with a choice of activities, children’s menu and good selection of toys in their own area.
The food is always freshly cooked and generously portioned without being overwhelming. So tasty too. One ofy most favourite places. Shame it's a bit out of the way for passing trade but well worth a visit as it's not too far off the beaten track. Would certainly recommend it. Lovely inside, comfortable and not too noisy to prevent having a cosy chat. Staff are so friendly and the chef so accommodating, especially if you want to tweak a menu item. If they have it in, they will make it.
Spent a lovely afternoon here with another couple we haven't seen for ages. After a very nice lunch at a very reasonable price we enjoyed a relaxed chat in the comfortable bar/lounge, which is clearly popular with people of all ages including families. It's not a "drinker's" bar and is more for diners, and is very nicely decorated and maintained with a warm welcome from the staff. We've been to the dining room upstairs before and it was excellent but we prefer the bar atmosphere. We'll definitely go again.
Stayed at the plough last night as attending a wedding close by, from the minute we checked in the staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered a light lunch to make way for the delicious puddings. We weren't disappointed, food was of highest standard. Room was bright and airy with amazing views. King size comfortable bed with lovely fresh white bed linen, the room was tastefully decorated with tea and coffee making facilities along with good quality cookies. Breakfast was of the same standard and plentiful had to leave some only because of the size of it. Nothing was to much trouble for the owner's and their team. Would highly recommend this place. Going to go back an sample Sunday lunch. Paul and Bernie
