About us

The West Highlands of Scotland in a bygone age enjoyed a reputation for a warm welcome and caring hospitality. Today in an age of changing values, the Plockton Hotel still maintains these much sought after but often now rare qualities. Family owned and run by the Pearson family (Dorothy, Tom, Alan & Ann-Mags) for the last twenty years, the hotel is the sort of place difficult to leave & easy to return to.

This is the Highlands — land of Clans and Castles, bitter rivalries and breathtaking scenery.

With stunning vistas at every turn one could perhaps expect that journey’s end might be something of a let down — not Plockton!

As one descends the main street a surprising and unique panorama opens up — sheltered by watchful mountains and fanned by the warm air of the Gulf Stream, the deep blue sea loch, Loch Carron, laps at the very edge of a sweep of white-washed Highland cottages overshadowed by, of all things, palm trees!.

Amazing...amazing! If only I was closer! We had amazing two days here with the nicest rooms and even better meals! The hospitality was outstanding and the wait staff both young and old made the trip so very fulfilling! Strongly recommended on every level!!

We didn’t stay here but had dinner and drinks a couple of times. The food was delicious and the service was great. Highly recommend!

Whilst spending a few days with family in Plockton we had the absolute pleasure of having a meal at the Plockton Inn. It was delicious. Friendly staff and great service. The chef was very attentive also. Definitely worth a visit.

I’m only able to review our lunch experience. They do take a break between lunch and dinner, but the bartender was kind and let us put in an order a few mins late. We ended up doing a soup & fish and chips. My soup was amazing. Great beer/cider selection and beautiful views.

It is quite expensive, especially for a solo traveller, but for the area you are travelling it's to be expected. For that money though, you get great service, clean, comfy well maintained rooms. Bed and pillows all really comfy. Food was pretty good. Not many places in town for dinner so its handy place to eat and have a few drinks too. Bit loud being the room next to the lobby when people come in from the bar, but that's hard to avoid and I think its the accessibility room in any case.
