Founded in 2012 by Philip & Amanda O'Shea, the Peppermill Town House Hotel is a hotel, restaurant, and wine bar. In 2015 we were awarded 2 rosettes for the restaurant and 5 gold stars for the accommodation from the AA which we have maintained now for 9 years.
As of today, we have 16 extremely well-appointed bedrooms, including a bridal suite with a 4 poster bed and a two-bedroom family suite. There is air conditioning in all rooms (except the single room). The rooms are equipped with a mini refrigerator, a safe, tea/coffee making facilities, dressing gowns, and top-of-the-line Hypnos mattresses. There are mains pressured showers in all of the bathrooms, and some of the bathrooms have freestanding bathtubs as well.
There are 80 different wines from around the world as well as an extensive cocktail and gin list on our bar list, which has won awards.
In addition, we serve afternoon tea from 12pm - 2pm on Tuesday - Saturday, as well as bottomless brunch on Saturday from 11am - 3pm.
Located in Devizes' market place, the property is about 20 miles from Bath, Swindon, and Salisbury in Wiltshire's most central town. In the middle of the town runs the Kennet and Avon canal.

We use the Peppermill on a regular basis for meeting rooms, lunches and overnight stays for our work. I cannot express how amazing the team are here, they are so helpful and will do anything for you. I'm incredibly grateful that I get to deal with these on a regular basis - they don't get enough credit :-) Food is always amazing and the accommodation is perfect!

Unfortunately a below average experience for an overpriced menu. The food itself was nice but for the price you expect a little bit more quality that simply wasn't delivered. The service really let the experience down. The two waitresses were incredibly grumpy and made the dining experience a tad awkward. They walked past the table with their heads down to avoid having to make eye contact with us. If you fancy a nice cocktail then this is the place to go but unless you want to feel like an inconvenience this is not the place for dinner.
We enjoyed an evening meal and cocktails which were beautifully prepared and food which tasted as good as it looked. There is a warm and inviting atmosphere and we were served by a very professional young lady called Libby who knew the menu and was able to talk to us During our dining experience. We certainly would recommend the venue. Delighted to have had such an enjoyable evening. Also a superb selection of wine, a personal preference would be to see slightly more English varieties available. With that said, we had an excellent English sparkling. Thank you for an excellent evening.
