About us

Set back away from the busy main road in West Parley – and easily accessible from both Poole and Bournemouth – The Pear at Parley is approached down a long, tree-lined driveway, flanked on both sides by green belt land and grazing horses. The dining pub nestles amongst 5 acres of open woodlands within a picturesque riverside setting and has exceptional views across the West Parley area. There is also access to the river Stour.

The whole emphasis of The Pear at Parley is to offer an impeccable, caring service in a relaxed and cheerfully informal environment. To create refreshment, diversion, fun and cheerfulness. Whether just popping in for a drink in the bar, or dining in the beautiful Orangery styled Restaurant – you will be greeted in an informal space of contentedness by our new staff and resident owner-managers, Mark Miller and Matthew Martinez.

Also, when the weather is favourable its stunning outlook lends itself to offering additional Al Fresco lunch or dinner on the terrace or as a picnic on the lawn with shade from centuries-old oaks.

Booked one of the huts for getting together with friends before Xmas. The hut was truly amazing, was able to change the lightling colours, turn up the heat and had our own waitress. A speaker that you could connect too, or just listen to the current music. There was a list of games you could requested which we did. Service was good, if a bit slow at times but it was a busy night. Plus you could just go to the bar, which was relatively quiet. The waitresses was so lovely and helpful. We have a premier buffet per person, so there was alots of food. We had a lot of it packed before it was delivered to the table as we knew it wouldn't be finished due to dietry requirements. All the food that was prepacked we gave it to the staff to ask if it could be donated. This will definitely be something we will being doing again.

We had our work's Christmas dinner here and it was a great night, from the food to the service and venue, would highly recommend. I had only ever been during the spring and eating pizza in the garden ( which happens to be one of the biggest beer gardens I've ever been in) so will definitely be back again to dine inside.

My husband took me to the Pear for lunch for my birthday, the service was brilliant and all the food was lovely! My husband had the fish and chips, the fish was a very large fillet and he thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a lovely outside area for when the weather is nice and also pods you can hire out. Highly recommend, and we look forward to coming back again 😊

We had a wonderful family reunion here. The food very very good. The team are helpful, friendly and understanding. We were not rushed in any way. The food is cooked perfectly, attention to detail is on point and the ingredients are fresh, well seasoned and very well presented. Nothing is overlooked, even salad garnish is tasty, well thought out and the dressing adds a good contrast to the rest of the plate Everything from starters to desert was so good, notably the lamb rump, seafood vongole, camembert.... it was all just perfect. Very highly recommended

Really good food with great portion sizes. Plenty of space with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were really friendly and in particular Elisha was a great character, made our experience so much better! I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant. Parking is available out the front, you need to drive down a gravel track to get to the building but Google maps will get you there easy.
