STEEPED IN HISTORY
Our beautiful building was once home to the Globe Hotel (the late 1700s) and shortly after became the Masonic Hall for the Sun Lodge in 1808.
The building is best known under the guise of Clapps Café which was established in 1863 and served the residents of Exmouth with tea and sweet delights until 1967. It was the aesthetics of Clapps Café that inspired Palm’s interior design, with the sweeping oak staircase once again taking centre stage. With our tropical furnishings and exotic palms, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d walked into a cabana in Zanzibar!.

Brilliant bar for cocktails with a nice theme throughout. The cocktail selection is ample, I would definately recomend if you are in Exmouth! 😄
So stupid that they never open the upstairs - instead everybody crammed into uncomfortable chairs downstairs, plus staff come up with half a dozen different times when the upstairs will be open, depending who you ask. Ridiculous, unprofessional and just puts me off going in there. Sort it out would you.
We had pre-dinner drinks at Palm. Fantastic selection of cocktails - more than one menu of them! Lovely decor inside but also outdoor seating available in the square, perfect for a summer evening. They do a deal of 2 for £14 before 7pm which is dangerous!
A lovely relaxing place with a great ambience. The staff are friendly and the cocktails are amazing.
