A lovely country pub in Affetside nr Bolton. It is a very old pub but has been modernised with a lovely large, light conservatory on the back and lots of outside seating. The food was great especially the cheese and onion pie. My friends also very much enjoyed their choices. Great atmosphere, very busy, I definitely recommend you book, even during the week. We were there Thursday evening and it was full either no spare seating. The small desserts with coffee for £7.50 are perfect for those who love a desserts but struggle to eat a full one after a main course 😋
Table for 3 all had 3 courses. Food was delicious highly recommend a visit . Just thought I'd give a shout out to Brad, who served us thanks we will be back
So eaten at the Pack Horse Tonight with my Fiancee for the Second time, Friendly welcome as always, asked to be seated near the fire place and ordered a pint of Moretti for myself and a Large Glass Of Merlot for my Fiancee. For starters I ordered Chicken liver and orange pate with warm bread and butter with a lovely chutney it was absolutely delicious. My Fiancee went for the Garlic Mushrooms which came with a lovely sauce and bits of Bacon 🥓 that really complimented the mushrooms my Fiancee loved them. For mains I ordered the homemade Three Cheese 🧀 and onion pie with Thick cut chips and mushy peas, It was delicious and the portion of Pie 🥧 was huge. My Fiancee ordered 8oz Rump Steak with Thick cut chips, Mushroom and Tomato, My Fiancee asked for her Steak to be cooked Medium to well and she said it was one of the best steaks she had ever eaten. I ordered another Pint of Moretti and my Fiancee ordered a small Merlot but due to a delay in getting our drinks they gave us a pint of Moretti and a large glass of Merlot but only charged us for Half a Pint and a Small Glass of Merlot. Service as always was fantastic, Polite and friendly staff, Fantastic menu including a set Menu(Monday to Friday from Noon till 5pm), Fantastic food, Fantastic portion sizes, Good crisp pint, Excellent customer service, Fantastic history and in a fantastic place with amazing views, Free Car park, Disabled parking spaces too. 5☆ Across the Board, We highly recommend The Pack Horse in Affetside.
Been meaning to write a review for a while. We sat outside to admire the fabulous view on a rare sunny day. Ordered bar snacks which were delicious! Lots of choice including vegetarian and vegan. The waiter and bar staff were really friendly and helpful and food served fairly quickly too. Welcomes dogs and has boot cleaning facilities. Have returned several times since for mid hike refreshments. Even offered to fill my water bottle up.
Enjoying a fantastic location high on the Lancashire hills above Tottington, Bury and Bolton, the venue is fantastic, bright and airy with lots of space, and a feeling of luxury. The food is excellent, with a wide range of choices catering for tastes of all sorts, and appetites of all sizes, all paired with a good selection of wines and beers. A great place for a family and friend get-together and highly recommended
