The Ostler Inn is located in the centre of Uffculme village.
Only a couple of miles from the M5, it has been a local inn dating back to the 17th century. Previously it has been known as The Fountain, The Rainbow and The Commercial Inn. It is now the only remaining Pub in the village. The Ostler Inn Welcomes all to enjoy a wide selection of drinks and a street food menu on the weekends. A secluded garden offers the opportunity to enjoy sunny days and a new outdoor seating area with heated lamps for those cold evenings. Whether you are just passing through or staying in the area, the Ostler Inn gives a warm welcome to all.
We stayed one night, en suite room, no breakfast. No food available but there is a kebab and Fish and chip shop next door also a shop selling a variety of products including salad bowls.
Had a great experience at the Ostler Inn, the atmosphere was very good and Jack behind the bar is fantastic with customers and really welcoming - would recommend to friends and family 👍🏼
Stayed here overnight whilst on a touring holiday. The staff were very friendly. There was no food, but we were welcomed to buy takeaway and eat in the restaurant. The locals were very friendly and keen to tell us where to walk around the village. Accommodation was clean and tidy.
If you are looking for a cheap place to stay in the area, the Ostler will take some beating. The bedrooms are basic but clean. The hot water takes a while to get to the shower, but when it does there is plenty of it. Unfortunately we didn't get chance to sample the food or drink as we were not around when the pub was open.
Got engaged just before coming here, and took a risk in just calling and not checking reviews. Absolutely outstanding. Amazing food, the tastiest lamb I've ever eaten (from the mixed grill), a delicious T Bone cooked to perfection, large portion sizes for my large belleh, a runny, local, home made scotch egg... The west country truly does have the best food at the best price, and this pub sells that to the max. Its amazing to see a proper, British, real and local pub that is succeeding and providing excellent, affordable and high quality, taste bud tingling food, whilst also still giving the atmosphere and vibez that we want, love and expect from such a pub. Cannot thank the landlord, chef and staff enough. Came here on a whim and will DEFINITELY return. Outstanding. Thumbs up from me :)
