A family group of four of us dined at the Trumpet Major today. We were attended to immediately when we arrived by a very friendly helpful waitress who showed us to our table and took our orders for drinks whilst we were deciding on what to order from the large varied menu. The young lady on her return was able to advise us and answer our questions on the menu and our choices which helped us to make good choices which we all enjoyed very much. We did appreciate the help and friendliness plus her lovely smile. We will definitely be visiting again very soon to this special place. Terry Cooper, Margaret Cooper.

Very quiet evening. But it was New Year’s Day, one superb member of staff met us and showed us to the table. Explained we could order through the app or at the bar. She was then showing other visitors to tables, bringing out food and other than one other staff member seemed to be the only member working out of front of house. Well done, she was superb. Food was excellent as always, piping hot, asked if we’d like anything else etc. Always 1st class service, hence why we use you regularly. So thank you 👍🏻 Happy New Year to you all.

Had a works Christmas party on Saturday 16th, we were a table of 6 and quite loud but nobody complained! Food was delicious, the Yorkshire pudding was massive 😋 the only thing it lacked was the gravy and we kept asking for more, all the staff were really nice and friendly and very attentive, The Christmas cocktails were lush and worth the money. I only scored 4 stars for the atmosphere due to the fact that the establishment was really quiet for a Saturday night, maybe the music could have been a little louder to distract you from that fact. But all in all was a lovely night.

I was lucky enough to win a competition on Facebook for a free carvery. I had yet to try the carvery here and am very glad I did, it's delicious and great value for money.

The food here was good (not world class but still good) , I loved the blood orange brownie. The service was a little slow dew to what I guess was a staff shortage . The waiting staff were very polite and there was a good atmosphere. The only thing I didn’t like here which really did not affect my experience was the miss matched chairs (I know it’s a bit dumb but it was a bit annoying) Over all I would recommend
