In the very heart of Holborn’s legal and media district, the Old Nick has been servicing the needs of lawyers, barristers, advertising executives and media production companies for many years.

Originally called the Three Cups, there has been a pub on the site since 1766 and indeed one rumour has it that it was renamed after a local barrister who uses the pub as his ‘chambers’ and accounts for a hefty percentage of the pub’s sales.

The inn sign is a portrait of Niccolò Machiavelli (father of modern political science) and in England Machiavelli was thought to be so evil his nickname, Old Nick, became synonymous with the devil.

Recently refurbished to a high standard, our pub continues to offer welcoming and dependable service in a traditional and fun environment, featuring an unrivalled range of drinks, as well as a street food inspired menu, featuring the “The Cheeky Indian”.
